The kids had a week off from school so we decided to use the time as an opportunity to do some family traveling. We took my mother who is visiting for the week to Calton Hill to show her the city before traveling to Aberdour to meet Jane and John and to see the coastal town and castle.
We then traveled to London by train. Though Ben was disappointed that Big Ben was covered in scaffolding, we were able to find a smaller one close by. The highlight of our trip to London was the Harry Pottery studio tour. I am not one for tourist spots but this was truly remarkable. If you're a fan of the books or movies, it's really worth the trip.
Another train took us to Paris where we walked all through the city enjoying the views, weather, and food.
And a quick stop to Manchester to complete Ben's 10th birthday present - a tour of Old Trafford.
Home just in time to be spared the wrath of winter storm Dennis!
